Is it true that ramen last 5 years in the human body system?
I heard this guy say on the radio that maruchan soups last 5 years in the intestine. I’ve been looking up info since it sounds unbelievable, I couldn’t find a thing though I already knew they’re really high in sodium therefore unhealthy. But the noodles itself are not as high in sodium but the powder added for flavor is the one high in sodium. Come on guys you believe this thing about 5 years? Please some feedback. Thanks in advance.

No, even with the possibility that you were able to swallowed the package and all.
Hope you don’t try it and leave it to professionals only.
) Good luck

Sounds like utter balls to me. They’re fairly simple carbohydrate and protein – there’s no reason they’d last more than a day.
Phone the radio station and ask if they can justify it – unless people like this get challenged they just keep spreading rubbish.

I can’t give you an exact answer on the little flavor packet, but the noodles- no way!
Noodles are very easily digested. They’re in, they’re out.
Maybe they’re talking about something besides Ramen?
I Think they’ve got a few different kinds of soup.

Highly highly unlikely. Sure, ramen isn’t all that healthy since it’s nutrient poor, sodium rich and is boiled in oil to make it easy to rehydrate. But other than that it’s simply noodles. It doesn’t have a lot of fiber, which is a key component in aiding in intestinal "movement" through your digestive system. But it’s no more likely to get stuck in your system than any other low fiber food such as meat or cheese.

I don’t find any truth in that.
the acid in your stomach would break the noodles down quite quickly, maybe a matter of a few hours.
HCl is a very strong acid by most standards and has a very active little hydrogen (H+) which is what bonds to other substances, therefore changing the make up.
But if you need proof, buy some HCl! =) alot of online science stores have simple one molar HCl solution you can test this out with.
have fun and be safe though! Goggles and aprons!

That is not how the digestive system works. Peristalsis is the muscle action that moves food through the body. Nutrients are absorbed by the small intestine and the waste goes through the large intestine and out. If something gets blocked, it causes a lot of problems. Parasites can live in the intestines for years, but not food.

You do that if you swallow gum, it doesn’t stay in your intestines or stick to your ribs right? And if you swallow a watermelon seed, it doesn’t grow a plant inside you?? If you do, you should know that noodles don’t either and you should also know you are in the wrong forum to be asking such a silly question…
