Is it ok for a 17 year old to start a workout regimen?
I am planning on starting the P90X program over the summer since a friend of mine tried it and it worked well for him. The thing is, I’m 17 I am just wondering whether it is ok for a 17 year old to start a workout plan like this: stunting my growth is my main concern. I usually just run and do push ups and sit ups but no lifting; I just want to make sure that I won’t get short from this plan. Thanks for any help.

you won’t lose height from lifting, and P90x is about light weights anyway, soooooo you’ll be fine plenty of teens lift wayyyy before 17 and they’re fine aka football players, basketball players, baseball players, and they’re all 6 foot plus for the most part. i don’t know why this rumor even exist i could see if you were 5 years old but your not… your 17 and like i said people start lifting at 13 and thats completly fine. lifting actually stimulates the bones and makes them stronger. sooooo in realtiy you’re doing your body some good, its better then spending your summer on the couch playing video games and getting fat don’t you think?

The P90X program is a scam all-in-one.
If anything, run 1-3+ miles on a daily basis apart from Saturdays and Sundays (use those [2] days as rest days)…then follow-up your cardio/running with core exercises; such as sit-ups, crunches, and pull-ups/push-ups.
Best of luck to you.
